Insulation is an essential element of modern construction, which fundamentally affects the energy efficiency, durability of buildings and the comfort of their users. Since its foundation in 1991, PUR-IZOLACE s.r.o. has focused on the development and application of polyurethane insulation systems that meet high requirements for quality, durability and sustainability.
Thanks to proven technologies such as systems for thermal, acoustic and waterproofing, their products contribute to a significant reduction in heating and cooling costs, protection of structures from moisture and improvement of the comfort of the indoor environment. In this interview, we focus on innovations, examples of implementation and current trends that are shaping the modern construction industry.
What innovations in your products have contributed to reducing your carbon footprint and heating and cooling costs?
Our products are designed to deliver not only superior insulation performance, but also efficient energy solutions. For example, the PUR INSULATION DUO system combines thermal and waterproofing insulation with the installation of photovoltaic panels. This approach enables the energy consumption of buildings to be reduced, significantly reducing operating costs and environmental impact.
What technologies ensure the longevity of your insulation systems and their resistance to moisture and mould?
We use advanced closed-cell materials that resist moisture and temperature fluctuations. For example, the PUR W60 system provides a seamless waterproof layer that protects roofs from water penetration. This approach not only ensures the longevity of the insulation, but also eliminates the risk of mould and improves the overall durability of the structure.

How do your insulation systems meet the highest standards of quality and safety in the indoor environment?
Our products, such as PUR INSULATION SOFT, are self-extinguishing, environmentally friendly and health-safe. As a result, they create a healthy and safe environment for living and working. Moreover, they are designed to meet strict European standards, which guarantees their top quality.
How are you responding to changes in regulations regarding energy efficiency and sustainability?
We are constantly monitoring legislative developments and adapting our technologies to not only meet new requirements, but often exceed them. This includes, for example, the development of products that support the achievement of low-energy building standards.
What benefits do your insulation materials bring to sustainable building?

Our materials enable the energy performance of buildings to be reduced, leading to significant savings. In addition, due to their durability, they minimise the need for frequent repairs, which promotes long-term sustainability. In addition, our insulations are compatible with other modern technologies such as photovoltaic systems.
Where are your insulation systems used?
Our PUR insulations are designed to cover a wide range of applications, from roofs and attics to technology or creative projects.
For example, in flat roofs, they serve not only as thermal protection, but also as waterproofing, protecting the structure from moisture and extending its life.PUR-IZOLACE s.r.o For arched and shaped roofs, our spray technology can insulate even complex surfaces.

In attics and lofts, our insulations are ideal for low-energy houses and renovations, where they help to address acoustic comfort in addition to heat loss. For vertical surfaces and walls, rigid foam ensures perfect adhesion without dripping, which is crucial in industrial and agricultural buildings.
Our insulations are also of special use in storage tanks or in the creation of decorations, for example for the film and advertising industry. This versatility allows the solution to be adapted to different projects, from single-family homes to complex technological applications. We always strive to find the optimum combination of functionality and efficiency.
What strategies do you use to educate customers about the benefits of quality insulation?
Education is important to us. We hold seminars, create detailed guides and provide on-site consultation. Our goal is to show that quality insulation is not just about saving energy, but also about improving the overall comfort and durability of a building.
Can you share examples of projects where your products have delivered significant energy savings?
One of our successful projects was the insulation of an agricultural building in Kosova Hora. This building originally had high heat losses that were increasing operating costs, especially during the winter months. Through the application of our insulation system, specifically closed cell rigid polyurethane foam, we achieved a significant improvement in the thermal insulation properties of the roof. This not only significantly reduced heating costs, but also extended the life of the roof structure by protecting it from moisture and temperature changes.

Similarly, we worked on a project to insulate the attic of a family house in Tatranská Lomnica. The original attic was difficult to heat, causing not only higher costs but also an uncomfortable environment for the occupants. After the application of our lightweight polyurethane foam with an open cell structure, we achieved a more even thermal regulation. Residents now report that their attics are warm in the winter and comfortably cool in the summer, all while using less energy.
Another example is the insulation of the production hall in Jiříkov. This building had problems with high heating costs in winter and cooling costs in summer. We used our PUR W60 system here, which provided comprehensive thermal and waterproofing protection. As a result, the indoor climate of the hall was improved, which had a positive effect not only on operating costs but also on the comfort of the workers.

Each of these projects shows how flexible our insulation systems are and how they can be adapted to the needs of specific buildings and their users. Energy savings, improved comfort and structural protection are the reasons why our products are increasingly used in a variety of sectors.
What plans do you have for new projects or innovations that might interest the professional community?
We are planning to expand our portfolio with new applications of the PUR DUO insulation system, which combines insulating properties with renewable energy sources. In this way, we want to contribute to an even wider use of sustainable technologies in modern construction.
